Please support this wonderful site if you can. In a world of clickbait movie gossip, these writers have assembled a wonderful and vast compendium of astute articles on cinema making and also a miraculous library of classic screenplays you cannot read anywhere else. Patronize. Give.

Creating and maintaining an online sanctuary for cinephiles all across the globe has been Cinephilia & Beyond’s mission since our very beginning. Our vision was to establish a unique cavern designed for both worship and analyses of instrumental works of the seventh art. While a lot of time, energy, and resources were invested in the project, the result of all the blood, sweat, and tears kept our hearts at ease. Cinephilia & Beyond has remained a free-for-all oasis we shared with you for more than a decade: a special and rare little corner of the Web untampered by commercialism and politics, devoted entirely to the appreciation and celebration of film.

In our tenure at the helm of C&B, we’ve published countless essays and interviews enriched with often incredibly rare and priceless screenplays, storyboards, behind-the-scenes photos, and more. As we were slowly building our portfolio, more and more people joined our community, individuals with a common passion from all corners of the world and all walks of life, and their unwavering support and love for this website allowed us to broaden our horizons and gain the courage needed for the next logical step in our development. From a curious blog with a couple of hundred readers, Cinephilia & Beyond blossomed into a Croatian-based independent website entirely dedicated to the world of cinema.

Under the roof of our very own non-profit organization—Close-Up, the Initiative for the Promotion of Film Culture—we continued to explore the world of filmmaking the only way we know how: with deep love and dedication. There were some painful roadblocks on the way. There were personal and professional issues beyond our control. There was a time when working on the site, or functioning in the world for that matter, seemed like mission impossible. But we came back and intend to stay here for as long as you’ll have us.

As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of individual donors. In order to create and maintain a beautiful website with dozens of articles published every month, we hope to raise $50.000 by December 31st. This budget will allow our team of dedicated editors and authors to continue writing, exploring, and publishing in-depth articles on many of the most important filmmaking endeavors of all time, digging up and curating innumerable fascinating and hopefully jaw-dropping hidden gems in the form of hard-to-find screenplays, forgotten interviews, and dusty photos begging to be saved from neglected shelves. We’re also currently developing several C&B projects we can’t wait to share with all of you, and this crowdfunding campaign is sure to bring these ideas much closer to realization. In short, we feel there are many more movies and filmmakers truly deserving “the C&B treatment,” and you are the patrons who can make it a reality.

If you still like what we do and share our passion for keeping film culture thriving, please consider donating. As we always stated, your generosity preserves film knowledge for future generations. We know the world is rapidly changing—and not frequently for the better—but we dream of remaining a constant. If you support our mission, we’ll do our best not to let you down.

You can also become a member, joining the loyal readers who make Cinephilia & Beyond possible with a recurring monthly donation of your choosing. When you commit to a monthly donation, you enable us to plan for the future by having a steady source of projected income to expand our website with great new projects and continually provide new content.
