But the script…..??? Well. A few questions about it. These are supposed to be research scientists in Antarctica, but they are presented in general as potheads, boozers, and / or idiots. I guess they have to behave stupidly or the plot wouldn’t advance, but really.

I was 16 when I saw The Thing in 1982 – I saw it twice during its theatrical run. People in the theater were screaming and grossed out at certain parts of the film. But I ate it up and knew that I was watching something that would be a classic horror film which will be referenced in the future. I’m so glad John’s hard work has wound up being appreciated for what it truly is; a masterpiece horror/sci-fi film.
